Every RILEM´s Week the local team organizes a special dinner, sponsored by RILEM and invited Sponsors, for its Members. This time, and as part of the foreign celebration of the 75th annual meeting, we have organized a fantastic experience for presential and online attendees RILEM members on Tuesday August 31th from 18:00 to 23:00 hours. The departure will be at 18:00 from the Fiesta Americana Hotel (Venue of RILEM week).
The visit to the Uxmal Archaeological Zone, one of the most conserved and beautiful mayan heritages, was suspended because of technical reasons (they are moving from an old to a new videommaping and it was closed). Instead, we will have a spectacular show of the Folkloric Ballet from the State Government at Temozón Hacienda.
Hacienda Temozon, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Temozon Sur is a member of Historic Hotels Worldwide since 2016, and dates back to 1655.
A hacienda built of coral walls and white moldings awaits you in the tropical rainforest ambience of the Yucatán península.
We boast story-like character through coral walls, white moldings and Mayan architecture. The beautiful garden path, standout facade and picturesque pool will have you in awe before even stepping foot into our hotel.
You’ll also be surrounded by impressive cultural décor, such as large double doors and Spanish tile.
After the tour, a traditional dinner will be served on the old colonial corridors of Temozón, entertained by live traditional music, soft drinks and, of course, local beers and nationally renowned wines. The departure back to the hotel will be immediately after dinner.
Virtually registered RILEM members attendees to the conference can still have a chance to enjoy the event through the streaming transmission, having an opportunity to interact with those on Temozon Sur.
This will be a unique unforgettable experience not to be missed, so, if you are not yet a RILEM member, What are you waiting for?, click here and become a RILEM member.
For presential members we will observe government enforced very strict and reliable safety (hurricanes) and sanitary (diseases) protocols to follow when/if need them.
We are anxiously looking forward to hosting you next year.
Upon arrival, the oldest staff of the hacienda will guide us on a night tour telling us curious facts and the history of the hacienda around the fountains, the cenote, the machinery´s room where sisal was processed, the carriage saloon, the magnificent bedrooms and so on.
